The story of adventure:
Gerard and Denys were good friends. Once they were travelling on foot in Germany. Gerard was armed with an axe and Denys with a crossbow. On their way, Gerard bought a weapon with a short spike at the head and a long handle. He practised with it. He was able to hit any object precisely.

As they were going through a forest, they heard some sound from behind a bush. A young bear burst out of the Wood and dashed towards Gerard. He delivered a tremendous blow on its nose with his axe. He hit another blow. The bear fell down dead. They wished to keep it for their supper and also as the reward to the Mayor of the next town.

Their pleasure did not last long. The mother bear came suddenly. She was huge in size. Gerard and Denys were afraid. They climbed two different trees. The mother bear smelt the dead young bear. She confirmed that the young one was dead. She grew furious. She followed Denys. She too, started climbing the tree. Denys thought that his death was sure to come. He asked his friend to keep off. Gerard saw the danger to his friend. He got down the tree. He stood on the ground and shot a bolt into the bear. The bear’s attention was diverted. She got down and chased Gerard.

Gerard, at once, climbed a tree. The bear mounted the tree on the other side. She was fast approaching Gerard. Now it was the turn of Denys to shoot at the bear. He shot at the bear with his crossbow. She was badly hit and wounded. She slipped and fell down dead on the ‘ ground. Luckily Gerard was saved.

My Nasty Adventure Summary in English

The speaker of the poem was a schoolboy. He wished he did some adventurous thing. One day he dreamed of doing some nasty adventure. He dreamed that he was travelling by plane to somewhere. After travelling some distance, his plane was about to crash. So, at once, he grabbed his bag and took out his big blue parachute to glide him down and land.

The child was gliding down with the parachute. At last h& found a spot to land. But there was a big gentle wind. Because of the wind, he had to land painfully on some sharp pine trees. When he landed on them, he was filled with bruises as a pine fell on his ear. He sat down on the ground to rest. Then a thorn poked him. He slept on the ground very anxiously. Mosquitoes bit his nose: Bugs crept all over him and tickled his body.

The boy scratched himself when he woke up. Then he appeared like a fool. After analysing his dream of the nasty adventure, the boy thought he would rather go to school than wasting time, dreaming.
