King Sibi And The Dove

Summary:

King Sibi was a very kind ruler. One day, while he was in the court, a dove flew and sat on his lap. The dove said that the king should protect it from the eagle. The king agreed to take care of it. Then the eagle came and asked the king to leave its prey, or else it should starve. The king, as he has given a word to dove told the eagle that he would provide anything other than the dove. Then, the eagle asked him, a portion of his flesh equal to the weight of dove. The king ordered to bring scales and placed dove in one scale and his flesh in the other. Many times scales were heavier on the doved’s side. So, the king himself sat in the scale.

The dove and the eagle turned as God Indra and God Agni. They said, they wanted to test his char¬ity and got satisfied. And gave his body back.

The Recipe Book

Once there lived a man named Raju. He owned a hotel everyone who came, liked the food. Raju, once got a bulk order to cook dinner for a party. But, he fell sick. Even though, he gained all his confidence and decided to cook.

But, suddenly he fainted. The Recipe book saw this. He talked to his friends.

He told about Raju and asked them for help. Firstly, the pot said, that it is big to prepare rice. Later on, the mixer was interested to join as it can grind things.

And then, the knife came as it slices the vegatables. Finally, the stove came and asked them for its participation. The recipe book welcomed it and they began cooking.

The Lazy Grasshopper

Once there was a lazy grasshopper. It was so lazy. Always it spent its time singing and dancing. Once, it also called the ants to join but they said that they are busy gathering food for rainy season. They advised the grasshopper to do the same. But he laughed at them. Then the grasshopper met some squirrels. The same happened as in the case of ants. Slowly, the rainy season started. The grasshopper had no food. He went to the ants and squirrels to ask for a meal. But they refused. The grasshopper learned a lesson and started to work hard.

దేశానికి సేవ చేయటం కంటే మించిన భగవంతుని పూజ లేదు. అంతా ‘నాకే’ – నాదే అనే స్వార్ధాన్ని మించిన చావు మరొకటి లేదు. ‘జాలి-దయ’ కంటే మించిన స్వర్గం మరొకటి లేదు.

సృజనాత్మకత

కింది చిత్రాల ఆధారంగా కథమ రాయండి.

జవాబు:
ఒకరోజు అడవిలోని జంతువులలో ‘కుందేలు – తాబేలు’ పరుగు పందెం పెట్టుకున్నాయి.

జవాబు:
మిగతా జంతువులన్నీ చూస్తున్నాయి. కుందేలు ముందుగా తొందరగా పరిగెడుతోంది. తాబేలు వెనుక పడింది.

జవాబు:
కొంత దూరం వెళ్ళాక అలసిపోయిన కుందేలు -చెట్టుకింది విశ్రాంతి తీసుకుంది.

అదే అదనుగా తీసుకుని తాబేలు కుందేలుని దాటి ముందుగా గమ్యాన్ని చేరుకుంది.
నీతి : ఎదుటి వారి శక్తిని ఎప్పుడూ తక్కువగా అందచనా వేయకూడదు.

ప్రశంస

పాఠంలోని పద్యాలు పాడుకున్నారు కదూ! మీ తరగతిలో పద్యాలు, పాటలు బాగా పాడేవారిని మీరు ఎలా మెచ్చుకుంటారో చెప్పండి?
జవాబు:
రామీ! నీ గురించి మాట్లాడుకుంటున్నాము. ఈ బహుమతులన్నీ గెలిచింది నువ్వేనటగా! చాలా సంతోషం. నిన్న నువ్వు నేర్పించిన పాట పాడి మా అమ్మాయి, వాళ్ళ స్కూల్లో ప్రథమ బహుమతి సాధించింది. నిన్ను చూసి అభినందించి వెళ్ళదామని వచ్చాను. మీ అమ్మగారు నువ్వు పాడిన పాటలు స్పీకరు పెట్టి వినిపించారు.

ఎంతో కమ్మగా పాడావు. నీగొంతు చాలా చక్కగా ఉంది. అంతేకాదు – నువ్వు సేకరించిన జానపద గీతాలన్నింటిని చూపించింది. నీ పాటల సేకరణ ఎంతో మంది చిన్నలకు – మావంటి పెద్దలకూ ఆదర్శం. స్ఫూర్తి దాయకం. రాబోయే తరాలకు వీటిని అందించాలనే నీ సంకల్పం ఆశయం మంచింది.

భావం :
ఓ వేమా! మనం సుఖంగా జీవించాలంటే చదువు ఉండాలి. చదువు ఉన్నవాడే అన్నింటిని చక్కగా గ్రహించగలుగుతాడు. కాని, అసలు చదువు అంటే ఏమిటి? కేవలం పుస్తకాలు చదవటమే కాదు. వాటి నిజమైన భావం తెలుసుకొని చదవటమే నిజమైన చదువు.

అర్థాలు :
ఐకమ్యతం = కలసి ఉండడం,

భావం:
ఐకమత్యమొక్కటే ఎప్పుడూ అవసరం. దాని బలం వల్ల ఎంతటి ప్రయోజనమైనా చేకూరుతుంది. గడ్డి పరకలు బలహీనమైనవి అయినా వాటినన్నింటిని కలిపి వెంటివేనితే, ఆ వెంటితో పెద్ద ఏనుగునైనా కట్టవచ్చు.

దిలీపుని కథ

దిలీప మహారాజుకు సంతానం లేదు. ఆయన భార్య సుదక్షిణా దేవి. మహారాజు పిల్లలు లేరనే తన బాధను గురువైన వశిష్టునికి చెప్పుకున్నాడు. గురువు అయనకు నందిని అనే ఆవును చూపించి దానికి సేవ చేయమన్నాడు.

మహారాజు దంపతులు నందినిని ఎంతో ప్రేమగా పెంచసాగారు. దిలీపుడు ప్రతిరోజూ స్వయంగా దాన్ని సమీపంలోని అడవికి మేతకు తీసుకొని వెళ్ళేవాడు. ఒకరోజు ఎప్పటిలాగే దిలీపుడు నందినిని అడవికి తీసుకొని వెళ్ళాడు. నందిని మేత మేస్తూ దారి తప్పి, ఒక సింహం గుహలోని వెళ్ళింది. నందినిని చూసిన సింహం తనకు ఆహారం దొరికిందని సంబరపడింది. దానిని తినబోయింది.

నందిని అరుపులు విన్న దిలీపుడు పరుగున గుహవద్దకు వచ్చాడు. ఆవును విడిచి పెట్టమని సింహాన్ని కోరాడు. సింహం నవ్వి,” ఓ మహారాజా! నేను ఆకులు,గడ్డి తిని బతకలేను. నా ఆహారం జంతువులే కదా! దేశాన్ని ఏలే రాజువు. నీకు తెలియదా! మరి నన్ను ఏం తిని బతకమంటావు? నువ్వే చెప్పు”. అంది.

రాజు ఒక్క క్షణం ఆలోచించాడు. సింహం వైపు చూసి “ ఈ గోమాతను కన్నబిడ్డలా చూసుకుంటానని మా గురువుగారికి మాటిచ్చాను. దయ ఉంచి గోమాతను విడిచి పెట్టు దానికి బదులు నన్ను నీ ఆహారంగా స్వీకరించు”. అని ప్రాధేయపడ్డాడు.

దిలీపుని మాటలు విని , సింహం ఆశ్చర్యపోయింది. “నీవు బతికి ఉంటే వెయ్యి ఆవులను దానం చేయగలవు. నీ ప్రాణాలు వదులుకుంటావా?” అని ప్రశ్నించింది. అపుడు ” ఒక గోమాతను కాపాడలేని, ఒక మృగరాజు ఆకలి తీర్చలేని నేను ఈ దేశాన్ని ఎలా పాలించగలను?” అని వినయంగా బదులిచ్చాడు.

సింహం సరేనంది. రాజు కళ్ళు మూసుకున్నాడు. అంతే! అతనిపై పూల వాన కురిసింది. రాజు కళ్ళు తెరిచి చూస్తే దేవతలు ప్రత్యక్షమయ్యారు. ” ఓ రాజా! నీ ధర్మనిరతిని పరిక్షించడానికే మేము ఈ సింహాన్ని సృష్టించాము. నువ్వు మా పరీక్షలో నెగ్గావు. ఇక నువ్వు నిశ్చింతగా వెళ్ళవచ్చు” అన్నారు. మహారాజు వారికి నమస్కరించి నందినిని తీసుకొని ఇంటికి వెళ్ళాడు. కొన్నాళ్ళకు ఆ రాజుకు ఒక కుమారుడు జన్మించాడు. అతనే రఘు మహారాజు. ఈ వంశం వాడే శ్రీ రాముడు.

నాజర్ బుర్రకథ చెప్పడంలో మంచి పేరు పొందాడు కదా! ఇలాంటి కళలను గురించి తెలుసుకొని తరగతి గదిలో మాట్లాడండి.

బుర్రకథ లాంటి మరొక జానపద కళ “కోలాటం”

గ్రామీణ ప్రాంత ప్రజలు తాము చేసే నిత్యకృత్యాలలోని అలసటను మరిచిపోయేందుకు ఉపయోగించే కళారూపం ఈకోలాటం. కోలాటం ఆటలో కళాకారులు రెండు చేతులతో కోలలు ధరించి వాటిని తాకిస్తూ కోలాటం ఆడతారు. ఇందులో ఏక కోలాటం, జంటకోలాటం, స్త్రీల కోలాటం, పురుషుల కోలాటం వంటివి ఎన్నో ఉన్నాయి. కోలాటం నృత్యంలో సుమారు 16 మంది నుండి 40 మంది వరకు పాల్గొనవచ్చు.

భాషాంశాలు

అ) కింది వాక్యాలను చదవండి. వాక్యం చివర ఉన్న ‘ ? ‘ గుర్తును గమనించండి.

ఈ పదాలు వాక్యాలలో వచ్చినప్పుడు వాక్యానికి ప్రశ్నార్థకం (?) గుర్తు వస్తుంది.

బంగారు మొలక

అనగనగా ఒక రాజు . ఆ రాజు ప్రజలను చక్కగా పరిపాలించేవాడు. సమయం దొరికినప్పుడల్లా రాజ్యంలో పర్యటించేవాడు. ప్రజల కష్టసుఖాలను తెలుసుకొనేవాడు. ఎప్పటిలానే ఒక రోజు రాజు పర్యటనకు బయలుదేరాడు. ఒక గ్రామం పొలిమేరలో రాజుకి మామిడి మొక్కతో ఒక ముసలివాడు కనిపించాడు. రాజు ఆ వృద్ధుడిని గమనిస్తున్నాడు. అతను మామిడి మొక్కను నాటి దానికి నీరు పోయసాగాడు.

రాజు మనసులో ఒక ఆలోచన మెదిలింది. ఈ మొక్క ఎప్పుడు చెట్టవుతుంది? కాయలు కాస్తుంది? ఈ ముసలివాడు ఎప్పుడు వాటిని తింటాడు? రాజుకు నవ్వు కూడా వచ్చింది. తాతను అడిగాడు.

” తాతా నీవు ఎంత అమాయకుడివి. ఇప్పుడు మామిడి మొక్క నాటుతున్నావు. ఇది పెరగాలి. పెద్దదవ్వాలి. దానికి కాయలు కాయాలి. ఇది ఎప్పటికి జరిగే పని అప్పటిదాకా నీవు బతికిఉంటావా?”

రాజు మాటలు విని ముసులివాడు బోసినోటితో నవ్వాడు. ” రాజా! ఈ మొక్కనాటేది నాకోసం కాదు. అప్పటివరకు బతికి ఉండనని నాకు తెలుసు. ఇది పిల్లలు తింటారు. జనం తింటారు.

ఎన్నడో మన తాతలు నాటిన మొక్కలే ఇప్పటికి చెట్లయి ఫలాలు ఇస్తున్నాయి. వాటినే మనం తింటున్నాంకదా! ఏపని అయినా మనకోసమే చేయవలసిన పనిలేదు. రేపటి కోసం కూడా చేయాలి ఎవరికోసం వారు ఆలోచించుకుంటే ఈ లోకం ఇంత దూరం వచ్చేదా! ఇంత అభివృద్ధి ఉండేదా!” అన్నాడు ముసలివాడు.

అ ” తాత మంచిమాట చెప్పాడు. తాత మనసు చాలా మంచిది” అనుకుని రాజు ముసలివాడికి పాతిక బంగారు నాణేలు అందించాడు. తాత ముఖం ఆనందంతో వికసించింది.

” చూశావా! రాజా! ఈ మొక్క నాటినరోజే బంగారు కాసులు కాసింది” అంటూ తాత సంబర పడిపోయాడు. అతని సంబరం చూసి రాజు కూడా ఆనందించాడు.

ఇంటి ముందు ముగ్గు అనేది శుభప్రదం. రంగురంగుల ముగ్గులు అవకాశం ఉంటే ఓపిక – సమయం ఉంటే ప్రతిరోజూ వేసుకోవచ్చు. కాకపోతే ప్రత్యేకంగా- ఈ రంగు రంగుల రంగ వల్లులు సంక్రాంతి సమయంలో వేస్తారు. జనవరి 1వ తేదీన క్రొత్త సంవత్సరం ప్రారంభం (ఆంగ్ల నూతన సంవత్సరం) కనుక ఆనందంగా స్వాగతం చెబుతూ వేస్తారు.

ఊరి చివరన ఉండే తాతల నాటి వేపచెట్టు ఉంది. అది ఆట స్థలం. సెలవు రోజుల్లో పిల్లలంతా అక్కడ ఆడి, పాడి ఆనందంగా గడిపుతారు.

ప్రశ్న 3.
మీకు ఇష్టమైన పండుగ ఏది? దాన్ని మీరు ఎలా జరుపుకుంటారు?
జవాబు:
మాకు ఇష్టమైన పండుగ ‘దీపావళి’. ఇది రెండు రోజుల పండుగ. ముందురోజు ‘నరక చతుర్థశి’. ఈ రోజు తెల్లవారు జామునే లేస్తాము. అమ్మ మా మాడున నూనె పెడుతుంది.

అప్పుడు తెచ్చుకున్న టపాకాయలలో ఒకటో రెండో కాల్చి, తలంటుకుని స్నానం చేస్తాము. ఇక అప్పటి నుండి కొసుకున్న మందులు ఎండబెడతాము. స్నేహితుల ఇళ్ళకు వెళ్ళి, వాళ్ళు ఏఏ మందులు కొనుక్కున్నారో చూస్తాము. అదో సరదా!

తరువాత రోజు దీపావళి. ఆరోజు ఉదయాన్నే స్నానం చేసి కొత్త బట్టలు కట్టుకుంటాము. రాత్రికి ఇంటి గుమ్మాల పైన వరుసగా నూనె దీపాలు వెలిగించి నమస్కారం చేసుకొని, అప్పటినుండి మందులు కాలుస్తాము. తరువాత తీపి మిఠాయిలు తింటాము.

ఈ విధంగా సరదాగా ఆనందంగా గడిపే మాకిష్టమైన పండుగ ‘దీపావళి’.

ప్రశ్న 4.
పిల్లలూ! సెలవు రోజుల్లో మీరేమేమి చేస్తారో చెప్పండి.
జవాబు:
సెలవు రోజుల్లో కొంచెం ఆలస్యంగా లేస్తాము. అమ్మ పెట్టిన అల్పాహారం (టిఫిన్) తిని ముందురోజు పాఠశాలలో గురువులు ఇచ్చిన ఇంటి పనిని (హోమ్ వర్క్) చేస్తాము. అమ్మకు నాన్నకు సాయం చేస్తాము. సాయంత్రం సమయం అంతా స్నేహితులతో ఆడుకుంటాం. ఇంటికి వచ్చాక అమ్మ, నాన్న, నేను తమ్ముడు కలసి సినిమాకు గాని, హూటలు గాని వెళ్తాము. ఈ విధంగా సెలవు రోజు గడుపుతాము.

ఈ మాసపు కథ

నక్కయుక్త

ఒక నదీతీరం, నక్క బావ విచారంగా ఉంది. అటూ ఇటూ పచార్లు చేస్తోంది. తనలో తాను ఇలా అనుకుంది. “ పరుగులతో, తరగలతో పారుతోంది. ఇప్పుడీ నది దాటడం ఎవరి తరం? ఎక్కడో పడింది వాన, వరదలా వచ్చింది నీరు. ఎప్పుడు తీస్తుంది నీరు. ఎలా చేరతాను ఇల్లు”

నక్క బావ ఉపాయమేదని ఆలోచిస్తూ ఉంది. అంతలో నదిలో నుండి ఒక మొసలి బయటికి వచ్చింది. నక్కతో ” ఏమిటి నక్క బావా! ఒక్కడవూ ఏదో దీర్ఘంగా ఆలోచిస్తూ ఉన్నావు?” అంది. మెరుపులా నక్క బావ మదిలో మెరిసిందో ఉపాయం.

అది మొసలితో అంది “ నిజమేనయ్యా మొసలి బావా! నిన్ను చూడగానే నాకొక సందేహం వచ్చింది. ఈ అడవిలో నక్కలు ఎక్కువ ఉన్నాయా? ఈ నదిలో మీ మొసళ్ళు ఎక్కువ ఉన్నాయా?”

మొసలి తడముకోకుండా అంది “అనుమానమెందుకు నక్కబావా? మేమే ఎక్కువ” నక్క అంది “ఏమో! నాకు మేమే ఎక్కువ అనిపిస్తుంది.” మొసలి అంది, “మా వాళ్ళను ఇప్పుడే పిలుస్తాను. నువ్వే చూచి లెక్కించి చెప్పు”

మొసలి తమ వాళ్ళనందరినీ పేరు పేరునా పిలిచి వరుసగా ఈ ఒడ్డు నుండి ఆ ఒడ్డు వరకు నిలబెట్టించింది. అప్పుడు నదిపై మొసళ్ళ వంతెన తయారయ్యింది. తన యుక్తి పారినందుకు సంతోషించింది నక్క ఇక్కడ నుండి అందరినీ లెక్కించాలంటే కష్టం. నేను ఒక్కొక్కరి పై ఎగురుతూ లెక్కిస్తాను” అంది. మొసలి సరే అంది. నక్క ఒక్కొక్క మొసలి పై దూకుతూ నది దాటింది. అప్పుడు మొసలి ” ఇప్పుడు లెక్కించావుగా చెప్పు. మేమే కదా ఎక్కువ ఉన్నది” అంది.

అప్పుడు నక్క నవ్వి ” ఈ నది దాటడానికి నేను వేసిన ఎత్తు అది. ఎవరెక్కువ ఐతే మాత్రం వచ్చే లాభం ఏంటీ” అంది. నక్క తెలివికి మొసలి ఆశ్చర్యపోయింది.
