చిత్రంలో పులికి దాహం వేసింది. వాగు దగ్గరకు వచ్చి నీళ్ళు తాగబోతుంది. ఇంతలో ఒక కుందేలు అక్కడకు వచ్చి ఈ వాగు నాది. ఇందులో నీళ్ళు తాగాలంటే – ముందు నేనడిగిన ప్రశ్నలకు జవాబులు చెప్పమంది. వీరిద్దరి సంభాషణను – పరిస్థితిని మిగతా జంతువులు – వింటూ పరిశీలిస్తున్నాయి.

చిత్రంలో ఏఏ జంతువులు ఉన్నాయి? ఏం చేస్తున్నాయి?
జవాబు:
చిత్రంలో పెద్దపులి, కుందేలు, ఏనుగు, కోతి, కొండ చిలువ ఉన్నాయి. అవి పొడుపు-విడుపు ఆట ఆడుకుంటున్నాయి. కుందేలు అడిగిన ప్రశ్నకు – పులి జవాబు చెప్తుందా! అని చూస్తున్నాయి.

ప్రశ్న 4.
పాఠంలో ఆరటి పండు, జామపండు లాంటి పండ్లు వచ్చాయి. మీకు ఏఏ పండ్లంటే ఇష్టమో చెప్పండి.

ఆ) కింది కథను చదవండి. పొడుపు విడుపు చెప్పండి.

కుందేలు నక్కబావ పెండ్లికి బయలుదేరింది. దారిలో కుందేలుకు దాహం వేసింది. నీటిని వెతుకుతూ వాగు చేరింది. నీరు తాగబోయింది. ఇంతలో ఒక పులి వచ్చింది. “ఆగు! ఈ వాగు నాది! నువ్వు నీళ్ళు తాగాలంటే నా ప్రశ్నలకు జవాబులు చెప్పాలి. చెప్పలేకపోతే నిన్ను తిని నా ఆకలి తీర్చుకుంటాను” అంది కుందేలు సరే అంది.

ఇలా పులి అడిగిన అన్ని ప్రశ్నలకూ కుందేలు జవాబులు చెప్పింది. హాయిగా నీరు తాగి వెళ్ళిపోయింది.

ఈ మాసపు కథ

వికటకవి

కృష్ణాతీరంలో గార్లపాడు అనే ఊరు ఉంది. ఆ ఊరిలో రామయ్య మంత్రి అనే పండితుడున్నాడు. అతని భార్య లక్ష్మమ్మ. వారి కుమారుడు రామకృష్ణుడు. చిన్నతనంలో రామకృష్ణుని తండ్రి మరణించాడు. మేనమామ అతన్ని తెనాలికి తీసికొని వచ్చాడు. రామకృష్ణుని బడిలో వేశాడు.

రామకృష్ణుడు చదువుకునేవాడు కాదు. బడికి పోయేవాడు కాదు. పొద్దున్నే ఇంటి నుంచి బయలుదేరి అటూ ఇటూ తిరిగేవాడు. సాయంత్రం ఇంటికి చేరేవాడు. చదువు లేదు. అల్లరి ఎక్కువ. పెద్దవాడువుతున్నాడు.

ఒక రోజు రామకృష్ణుడు అలా తిరుగుతున్నాడు. అతనికి ఒక సాధువు ఎదురయ్యాడు. సాధువుకు ఎందుకో రామకృష్ణుడి మీద దయ క లిగింది. అతన్ని దగ్గరికి పిలిచాడు. ” నాయనా ! నీకు ఒక మంత్రం చెప్తాను. కాళికాదేవి గుడికి వెళ్ళు. అక్కడ అమ్మవారిని పూజించు. ఈ మంత్రం జపించు. నీకు మేలు కలుగుతుంది”అని చెప్పాడు.

రామకృష్ణుడు మంత్రం నేర్చుకున్నాడు. ఆ మంత్రాన్ని పరీక్షించాలనుకున్నాడు. కాళికాదేవి గుడికి వెళ్ళాడు. అమ్మవారి ముందు కూర్చున్నాడు. మంత్రం చదువుతూనే ఉన్నాడు. కాళికాదేవి ప్రత్యక్షమయ్యింది.

కాళికాదేవి రెండు చేతుల్లో రెండు పాత్రలున్నాయి. ఆమె రామకృష్ణుని పిలిచింది. “నాయనా!” ఇవిగో రెండు పాత్రలు. ఒక దానిలో పాలున్నాయి. మరోకదానిలో పెరుగు ఉంది. పాలు తాగితే గొప్ప పండితుడివవుతావు. పెరుగు తాగితే ఐశ్వర్యపంతుడివవుతావు. నీకేం కావాలో కోరుకో” అంది.

రామకృష్ణుడు సందేహంగా చూశాడు. ‘ అమ్మా’ అవి అసలు ఎలా ఉన్నాయో నాకు తెలియదు. ఆ రెండూ ఇవ్వు ఒకసారి చూసి చెప్తాను అన్నాడు.

దేవి ఇచ్చింది. రామ్మకృష్ణుడు ఒకసారి పాల గిన్నెవైపు చూశాడు. ఒకసారి పెరుగు గిన్న వైపు చూశాడు. ఒకసారి అమ్మవారిని చూశాడు. ఒక్కసారే పాలు, పెరుగూ నోట్లో పోసుకున్నాడు.

కాళికాదేవికి కోపం వచ్చించిది. “ఇదేం పని? నీవు వికటకవి అవుతావు ఫో”అంది.

రామకృష్ణుడు దేవి కాళ్ళ పై బడ్డాడు. క్షమించమన్నాడు. ధనం లేని పాండిత్యం, పాండిత్యం లేని ధనం రెండూ వ్యర్థమే. అందుకే రెండూ కావాలన్నాడు. తల్లీ! దయ చూపించమని వేడుకున్నాడు.

The Good Samaritan

Summary :

Once, there lived a Jewish man in Jerusalem. One day, he started his journey to Jericho. Suddenly, a gang of robbers beat him and took away all money from him. the man was injured. After sometime he saw a priest nearby. He thought he would help him but he went on. Later, a Levite came and went away. Then a Samaritan there.

Jews didn’t like Samaritans. So, he expected that the man wouldn’t help him. But the Samaritan stopped his donkey and came to him with compassion. Jewish man was almost fainting. The Samaritan gave him water and bandaged the wounds. Then he took him to an inn on his donkey. He paid the inn-keeper enough money and left the Jewish man there. Soon, he recovered and went home. He always remembered Samaritan’s kindness.

అనగనగా జెరూసలెం అనే ప్రదేశంలో ఒక యూదు దేశస్థుడు నివసించేవాడు. ఒక రోజు అతను జెరికో అనే ఊరికి బయలు దేరాడు. హఠాత్తుగా ఒక దొంగల గుంపు తనను బాగా కొట్టి, అతని డబ్బు అంతా తీసుకువెళ్ళారు. ఆ దెబ్బలకి ఆ యూదు దేశస్థుడు గాయపడ్డాడు. కొంత సేపటికి అక్కడ ఒక పురోహితుడు అటుగా రావడం చూసి తనను ఆదుకుంటాడని భావిస్తాడు. కాని అతను తన దారిన వెళ్ళిపోతాడు. ఆ తర్వాత ఆ దారిన ఒక సమరిటన్ వస్తాడు. తాను కూడా వచ్చిన దారిన వెళ్తాడు. అప్పుడు ఒక దయాళువు అటుగా వస్తాడు.
