In the above sentence ‘on’ is used before the date 12th January. It tells the relationship between the event or action ‘born’ and when it happened. Summary :

Vivekananda was bom on 12th January, 1863 to Viswanath Dutta and Bhuvaneswari Devi in Simulia, Kolkata. First, he was named veereswara. but as it was difficult to spell, everyone called him Narendra. his mother used to narrate him stories from great epics, Ramayana and Mahabharatha. In his childhood, he was very active, intelligent and playful. He had leadership qualities and was kind to animals and birds, his favorite game was ‘The king and the court’. He and his friends practised meditation and he looked like a Buddha. One day, when a snake came, everyone ran away but he didn’t move from his palace. He was good at studies as well as games.

He listened to everything very carefully. One day, he was punished by his teacher. Then, he protested saying that he was right. Then, the teacher slapped him. He returned home crying. His mother consoled him by saying him not to worry when he did right. One day, all his friends ran away listening that there was ghost in the tree. But he was fearless as he didn’t see it. He became a great leader Swami Vivekananda. He was inspired by teaching of Bhagavadgita and his teacher Rama Krishna Paramahamsa.

వివేకానంద జనవరి 12న, 1863వ సంవత్సరంలో విశ్వనాథ్ దత్తా, భువనేశ్వరి దేవి దంపతులకు సిములా, కలకత్తాలో జన్మించాడు. మొదటిగా తనను అందరూ వీరేశ్వరా అని పిలిచేవారు. కానీ అలా పిలవడం ఇబ్బంది కావడంతో, అందరూ నరేంద్ర అని పిలవసాగారు. నరేంద్రుడికి అతని అమ్మ రామాయణ, మహాభారత ఇతిహాసాలను బోధించేది. తన చిన్నతనంలో ఎంతో చలాకీగా, తెలివిగా ఉండేవాడు. నాయకత్వ లక్షణాలతో ఉండేవాడు. జంతువులు, పక్షులను ఎంతో ఆదరించేవాడు. తనకు ఇష్టమైన ఆట ‘ది కింగ్ అండ్ ది కోర్ట్’. తన స్నేహితులతో కలిసి ధ్యానం సాధన చేసేవాడు. ఒక రోజు వారు ఆడుకునే స్థలంలో ఒక పాము వచ్చింది. ఆ పామును చూసి అందరూ భయపడ్డారు.

కానీ నరేంద్రుడు మాత్రం అస్సలు కదలలేదు. నరేంద్రుడు చదువులో, ఆటలలో ముందుండేవాడు. ఒకసారి తన గురువు నరేంద్రుడిని దండించాడు. అయినా తన తప్పులేదు అనడంతో గురువు తనను కొట్టారు. దాంతో ఏడుస్తూ ఇంటికి వెళ్తాడు. నరేంద్రుడు తల్లి తనను ‘మనం తప్పు చేయకపోతే బాధపడకూడదు అని ఓదార్చింది. ఒకరోజు, చెట్టులో దెయ్యం ఉందని తమ స్నేహితులందరూ పరుగులు తీశారు. కానీ నరేంద్రుడు మాత్రం తనకు దెయ్యం కనిపించకపోవడంతో అక్కడ నుంచి కదల్లేదు. నరేంద్రుడు ‘స్వామి వివేకానందా’గా ఎంతో గొప్ప నాయకుడు అయ్యాడు. తనకు భగవద్గీత మరియు అతని గురువు రామకృష్ణ పరమహంస ఎంతో స్ఫూర్తిని ఇచ్చారు.

ఈ మాసపు కథ

దెబ్బకు దెబ్బ

ఒక రైతు ఉండేవాడు. అడవికి వెళ్లి కట్టెలు కొట్టుకొని వచ్చి పట్టణంలో అమ్మేవాడు. ఆ డబ్బుతో కుటుంబాన్ని పోషించుకొనేవాడు. ఒకరోజు కట్టెలుకొట్టి బండినిండా వేసుకొని పట్టణానికి వస్తున్నాడు రైతు. ఒక వ్యాపారి ఎదురై కట్టెలు బేరం చేశాడు. ఈ కట్టెలబండి ఎంతకిస్తావని అడిగాడు. రైతు 20 రూపాయలన్నాడు.

‘సరే నాతో రా’ అన్నాడు వ్యాపారి. రైతు బండి తోలుకొని వ్యాపారి వెంట అతని ఇంటికి వెళ్లాడు. అక్కడ కట్టెలుదించాడు. వ్యాపారి ఇరవై రూపాయలు ఇచ్చాడు.

రైతు ఖాళీ బండి తోలుకొని వెళ్లబోతుంటే వ్యాపారి ఆపాడు, “అదేంటి రైతన్నా! నా బండి తీసుకొని ఎక్కడికి పోతున్నావ్? కట్టెలతో పాటు బండి కూడా కొనుక్కున్నాను కాదా!”
“అదెట్లా ” అన్నాడు రైతు.

“ఎట్లా ఏమిటి. ఇట్లానయ్యా” అంటూ వ్యాపారి వివరించాడు.” ఈ కట్టెల బండికి నన్ను ఇరవై రూపాయలడిగావా, లేదా?” “అడిగాను” “నీకు ఇరవై రూపాయలు ఇచ్చానా?” “ఇచ్చావు”

“అయితే చెప్పు. ఈ బండి నాదై పోయింది కదా!” అంటూ .. వ్యాపారి బండి లాక్నున్నాడు. అమాయకుడైన రైతు తలవంచుకొని ఇంటికి వెళ్లిపోయాడు. రైతుకు ఒక కూతురు ఉంది. చాలా తెలి పైన పిల్ల, తండ్రి నడిగి కథంతా తెలుసుకుంది. వ్యాపారికి బుద్ధి చెప్పాలని నిర్ణయించుకుంది. మరుసటి రోజు కొన్ని ఎండు మోపు కట్టుకుని అమ్మడానికి వ్యాపారి ఇంటికి వెళ్లింది.

“షావుకారు గారూ! కొన్ని ఎండుకట్టెలున్నాయి. కొంటారా?”

” ఎంత ” “రెండు గుప్పిళ్లు ధాన్యం”. వ్యాపారికి బేరం చాలా లాభసాటిగా కనిపించింది. కట్టెలమోపు తీసుకున్నాడు. ఆ అమ్మాయికి రెండు గుప్పిళ్ల ధాన్యం ఇవ్వబోయాడు.
“షావుకారుగారూ! ధాన్యాంతోపాటు మీరెండు గుప్పిళ్లూ కూడా కోసి ఇవ్వండి”.
అమె మాటలు విని వ్యాపారి చకితుడయ్యాడు. “అంటే అర్థమేమిటి?”

” ఏముందిందులో ఆర్థం కాకపోవడానికి. రెండు గుప్పిళ్ల ధాన్యానికి మీరు కట్టెలు కోన్నారా, లేదా?”

“అవును” “మరి ఇవ్వండి. ధాన్యంతో పాటు మీ రెండు గుప్పిళ్లూ కూడా కోసి ఇవ్వండి. నేను సరిగ్గానే చెప్పానా?” “అదెట్లా” గట్టిగా కేకలు వేశాడు వ్యాపారి. “ధాన్యంతో పాటు ఎవరైనా తమ గుప్పిళ్లు కూడా కోసి ఇస్తారా?” ” ఎందుకు ఇవ్వకూడదు?” “కాని, ఎట్లా?”

అమ్మాయి అంది, “మా నాన్న కట్టెలతో పాటు బండి కూడా మీకు ఇవ్వలేదూ! అట్లాగే. మరచి పోయారా?” అమె మాటలు విన్న వ్యాపారి తల సిగ్గుతో వంగిపోయింది. ఆమెకు క్షమాపణ చెప్పి బండి ఇచ్చేశాడు.

చిత్రంలో ఒక మగ మనిషి (కూలి), ఒక ఆడ మనిషి ఇద్దరు పిల్లలు ఉన్నారు. కూలీ సామాన్లు మోసుకొస్తున్నాడు. వెనకాల ఆ సామన్లకు సంబంధించిన ఆడవాళ్ళు నడిచివస్తున్నారు.

మీరు ఎప్పుడైనా రైలు ప్రయాణం చేశారా? మీ ప్రయాణం గురించి చెప్ప౦డి?
జవాబు:
నేను చాలాసార్లు రైలు ప్రయాణం చేసాను. ప్రయాణానికి ముందు కావలసిన వస్తువులను అమ్మ, నాన్నలు చక్కగా బ్యాగ్ ల్లో సర్దుతారు. అక్కడ నుండి రైల్వే స్టేషను 1/2 గంట ముందుగా చేరుకుంటాము. ముందుగా ప్రకటించిన విధంగా రైలు ఫ్లాట్ ఫారం మీదకు రాగానే మాకు సంబంధించిన భోగిలోకి ఎక్కుతాము. మా సీట్లలో మేము కూర్చుంటాము.

ఎక్కినప్పటి నుండి దిగేవరకు భోగిలో ఎన్నో సంఘటనలు జరుగుతూ ఉంటాయి. మాటి కొకసారి టీ, కాఫీ, అమ్మేవారు, తినే పదార్థాలు తీసుకొచ్చేవారు, ఒక్కరు వార్తా పత్రిక కొంటే- దాన్ని ఆ భోగిలో సగానికి పైగా అందరూ చదువుతారు. కోన్నవాడు తప్ప, సెల్ ఫోన్లో గట్టిగా. పాటలు వినేవాళ్ళు, పసి పిల్లల ఏడుపులు, కూర్చోటానికి సీట్లు లేనివాళ్ళు T.Cని బ్రతిమాలాడు కోవడం… ఇలా ఎన్నో సంఘటనలు, చూస్తూ ఉండలేగాని… ప్రయాణం చిరాకు తెలియదు. ఇట్టే ! మన ఊరు వచ్చేసిందే అనిపిస్తుంది. నాకు మాత్రం భలే సరదా….. రైలు ప్రయాణమంటే…..

మొదటిది : పార్వతీశం ఇంగ్లాండు వెళ్ళటానికి తనతోపాటు సర్దుకున్న వస్తువులు చూసి నవ్వొచ్చింది.
” రెండవది : రైలెక్కాక – తన వస్తువులు పడిపోకుండా… రైలు ఆగటానికి లాగే గొలుసును లాగి కట్టిన సన్నివేశం నాకు నవ్వు వచ్చింది.
మూడవది : చెన్నపట్నంలో, తెలియక ఆడవాళ్ళ టోపి కొని అక్కడ నుండి దానితో పడ్డ ఇబ్బందులు….. నాకు నవ్వొచ్చింది.

మా కుటుంబ సభ్యులందరం ఒకసారి. చార్‌ధామ్ ప్రయాణం చేసాము. అక్కడ ‘కేదార్‌నాథ్’ వెళ్ళినప్పుడు విపరీతమైన మంచు పడుతూ ఉంటుందిఒక్కొక్కసారి ఊపిరి అందదు. అలాంటి ప్రదేశంలో నడవలేని వాళ్ళకి డోలీలో కూర్చో పెట్టుకుని భుజానికి ఎత్తుకుని నెత్తిన తగిలిచుకుని కేదార్నాధుని గుడి దాకా మోసుకొస్తారు. ఆ సన్నివేశం నాకు బాగా వింతగాను ఆశ్చర్యంగాను అనిపించింది..

ఇంతకుముందు పాఠాలలో క్రియల గురించి తెలుసుకున్నారుకదా! క్రియాపదాలను వాక్యాలలో వాడినప్పుడు అవి రెండు రకాలుగా పనిచేస్తాయి.

ఒకటి : వాక్యాన్ని పూర్తిచేయటం
రెండు : వాక్యాన్ని పూర్తిచేయకపోవడం

పై వాక్యాలు చూడండి. మొదటి మూడు వాక్యాలు పూర్తి అయ్యాయి కదా! కాని తర్వాతి మూడు వాక్యాలు పూర్తి కాలేదు వాటిని పూర్తిచేయ్యాలంటే మరొక పదం ఏదో రావాలి. వాటిని ఎట్లా పూర్తి చెయ్యవచ్చో చూడండి.

4. రవి ఇంటిపని చేసి నిద్రపోయాడు.’
5. పిల్లలు నడుస్తూ మాట్లాడుతున్నారు.
6. లత పరీక్ష రాసి వస్తుంది.

ఇప్పుడు ఈ వాక్యాలు పూర్తి అయిన వాక్యాలే కదా! దీన్నిబట్టి మనం ఈ కింది విషయం తెలుసుకుంటాం: చేశాడు, నడుస్తున్నారు, రాస్తుంది, నిద్రపోయాడు, మాట్లాడుతున్నారు, వస్తుంది – ఇవి వాక్యాన్ని పూర్తిచేయ గలవు. కనుక ఇవి సమాపక క్రియలు. చేసి, నడుస్తూ, రాసి – ఇవి వాక్యాన్ని పూర్తి చేయలేవు. కనుక ఇవి అసమాపక క్రియలు.

ఈ మాసపు కథ

అత్యాశ

ఒక అడవిలో జిత్తులమారి నక్క ఒకటి ఉండేది. నక్కలు సాధారణంగా పులులు, సింహాలు వంటి క్రూరమృగాలు వేటాడి తినగా వదిలిన మాంసం, ఎముకలు తిని బతుకుతాయి. రెక్కాడితే గాని డొక్కాడదు’ అన్న బాధ వీటికి లేదు.
అటువంటి అవకాశం కోసం ఎదురు చూస్తున్న నక్కకు ఒక సువర్ణావకాశం లభించింది. ఒక వేటగాడు వేటాడి చంపిన లేడిని భుజాన వేసుకొని వస్తూ బలిష్ఠంగా ఉన్న ఒక అడవి పందిని చూశాడు. గురి చూసి ఆ సూకరాన్ని బాణంతో కొట్టాడు. అది గురి తప్పి పందికి గాయం చేసింది. అడవి పంది రెచ్చిపోయి కోపంతో వేటగాడి మీద దాడి చేసి చంపింది. తర్వాత పంది కూడా చచ్చింది.

ఆ పెనుగులాటలో ఒక పాము కూడా నలిగి నుగ్గునుగ్గయి చనిపోయింది. నక్క ఎదురుగా చనిపోయిన పంది, పాము, లేడి, మనిషి కళేబరాలు ఉన్నాయి. నక్క అనందానికి అంతులేదు. ‘బోలెడంత మాంసం. మంచి విందు భోజనం! ఆహా! ఏమి నాభాగ్యం ! అదృష్టవంతుణ్ణి చెరిపేవాడు లేడు’ అని మనసులో అనుకుంది.

‘సరేలే! ఈ నాలుగింటి మాంసం ఎపుడైనా తినవచ్చు ముందగా నరాలతో తయారు చేసిన వింటి నారిని తింటాను’ అనుకొని వింటిని కాలికింద పెట్టి నారిని కొరికింది. బిగుతుగా ఉన్న నారి తెగిపోవటం వల్ల విల్లు వేగంగా నక్క గుండెకు తగిలింది. అ దెబ్బకు నక్క గిలగిల తన్నుకుంటూ చనిపోయింది.

అశ అతిగా మారితే అన్నీ కావాలనుకుంటారు. ఉన్నవాటితో సర్దుకోలేరు. ఆ ప్రయత్నంలో ఆలోచన లేకుండా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు. దానితో ప్రమాదం కొని తెచ్చుకుంటారు అనటానికి ఈ ‘అత్యాశ’ కథ ఒక ఉదాహరణ.

పేను-నల్లి

ఒక పేను రాజు గారి మంచంలో జీవిస్తూ ఉండేది. ఒకరోజు ఒక నల్లి వచ్చింది. పేను ఆ నల్లికి అతిథి మర్యాదలు చేసింది. తరువాత “ఎందుకు వచ్చావు” అని పేను నల్లిని అడిగింది. “నువ్వు నాకు మంచి స్నేహితుడవు, నిన్ను ఒకటి అడగాలని వచ్చాను. నువ్వు ఒప్పుకుంటే నా కోరిక తీరుతుంది” అంది నల్లి.

“నువ్వు నాకు ప్రాణంతో సమానం. నీ కోరిక నావల్ల తీరుతుంది అంటే అంతకన్నా నాకు సంతోషం ఏముంది? నన్ను బతిమాలనక్కర్లేదు” అంది పేను అప్పుడు నల్లి “మిత్రమా! ఇంతకాలం మనుషుల రక్తం తాగి బతుకుతున్నాను. కాని ఏరోజు రాజుగారి రక్తం తాగలేదు. రుచి చూడలేదు. అప్పుడే కాచిననెయ్యి, తియ్యనిపప్పు, మంచికూరలు, రుచిగల వంటలు, ఊరగాయలు రకరకాల మాంసాలు, తీపి పదార్థాలు, పాలు, మీగడ పెరుగులు, మత్తుపానీయాలు, సువాసన ద్రవ్యాలు మొదలైనవి తిని, తాగి హాయిగా నీడలో ఉండే రాజుల రక్తం చాలా రుచిగా ఉంటుంది. ఈ మంచం మీద నన్ను ఉండనిస్తే నా కోరిక తీరుతుంది” అంది.

“సరే కానీ, సమయానికి తగినట్లుగా ఉండి రాజుగారు బాగా నిద్రపోయాక, మెల్లగా కరిచి, రక్తం పీల్చుకొని తెలివిగా అక్కడనుంచి తప్పించుకోవాలి సుమా!” అని చెప్పింది పేను.

“అలాగే చేస్తాను!” అని చెప్పి నల్లి ఒప్పుకొని మెల్లగా రాజు గారి మంచం మీద చోటు సంపాదించింది. ఒకరోజు రాజుగారు నిద్రలోకి వెళ్లకుండానే నల్లి ఆశపడి, తొందరపడి కరిచింది, ఆ అంతే! రాజుగారు ఉలిక్కిపడి లేచి చిరాకుగా “ఎవరక్కడ?” అని అరచి “దీపం తీసుకురండి! నన్ను ఏదో కుట్టింది. వెతికి చంపండి” అని ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు.

సేవకుడు దీపం తెచ్చేలోపు నల్లి గబగబా వెళ్ళి మంచం సందులో దాక్కుంది. పేను వేగంగా వెళ్లలేక పోయింది. దీపపు వెలుతురులో పేను కనడబడింది రాజభటునికి, అంతే! “ఇదే ప్రభూ! మిమ్మల్ని కుట్టి ఉంటుంది” అని రాజుగారితో చెబుతూ ఆ పేనుని నలిపి, చంపేసాడు.

A Trip Of Memories

Summary:

Hemarith writes a letter to Harsha describing his experience in Horsley Hills. Hemanth felt happy when his father told him the news that they are going to Horsley hills. Even, he tells his mom and sister about it. He made all the preparations for it. They woke up early and got ready. By an auto, they all went to the Vijayawada Railway Station. After reaching Pakala Station by train, they hired a car to the Horsley Hills. The scene was very beautiful. There was cool breeze and roads on either side with trees. A cool and fresh breeze welcomed them to Andhra Ooty. The area was full of trees and flowers. Climate was cool. Soon after lunch, they visited Gali – Banda.

After that they moved to Eastern and Western view points. Then, they went to the Mini-Zoo and watched many birds and animals. Then, his father took him to Madanapalle. It was the place where Rabindranath Tagore translated our National Anthem to English. Mrs. Margaret cousins composed a tune for our Anthem. Janaganamana was first sung at a courtyard in Madanapalle. Visiting this place filled Hemanth and his family with lot of memories.

హేమంత్ తన స్నేహితుడైన హర్షకు తాను హార్స్ లీ హిల్స్ లో పొందిన అనుభవాలను గూర్చి ఒక లేఖ రాశాడు. హేమంత్ వాళ్ళ నాన్నగారు తనకు, తాము హాలీ హిలకు వెళ్ళబోతున్నారు అని చెప్పారు. తను ఎంతో సంతోషిస్తాడు. ప్రయాణానికి కావాల్సిన వస్తువులన్నీ సిద్ధంగా పెట్టుకున్నారు. మరునాడు ఉదయం తొందరగా లేచి, వారందరూ (అమ్మా, నాన్న, హేమంత్, చెల్లి) ఆటోలో విజయవాడ రైల్వే స్టేసనకు చేరుకుంటారు. తర్వాత రైలులో పకాలా స్టేషన్ కు వెళ్లారు.

అక్కడి నుంచి కారులో వాతావరణాన్ని, చుట్టూ అందాలను ఆస్వాదిస్తూ ఆంధ్రా ఊటి (హార్స్ లీ హిల్స్) ని చేరుకుంటారు. ఆ ప్రదేశమంతా ఎంతో ఆహ్లాదకరంగా ఉంది. తర్వాత వాళ్ళు ‘గలి బండ’ అనే ప్రదేశాన్ని తిలకించారు. ఇంకా తూర్పు, పడమర దిక్కులలో సూర్యోదయ, సూర్యాస్తమయాన్ని చూశారు. తర్వాత ‘మిని జూ’కి వెళ్ళి ఆనందించారు. చివరిగా మదనపల్లి అనే ప్రాంతానికి వెళ్ళారు. అక్కడ రవీంద్రనాథ్ ఠాగూర్ జనగణమనను ఆంగ్లంలోకి అనువదించారు. మార్గరేట్ కజిన్స్ అనే బ్రిటిష్ మహిళ జనగణమనకు కొత్త రాగాన్ని రూపొందించారు. మొదటిసారిగా అక్కడ ఉన్న ప్రాంగణంలో మన జాతీయ గీతాన్ని పాడారు. హేమంత్ ఎన్నో మధురమైన అనుభవాలను పొందాడు.
