The above words player and raider are formed by adding ‘-er’ to the root word. We call such part of the word as a suffix. A suffix is a part of the word that is added at the end of a root word. Adding a suffix at the end of a word changes the word meaning.
- paint + er = painter – one who paints.
- preach + er = preacher – one who preaches.
- clean + er = cleaner – one who cleans.

Kabaddi is common in most of the villages of India. It is a game of all age groups. It is mostly played during festivals and fairs. This game is widely played in Andhra Pradesh. It is the official game of Andhra Pradesh. The game requires no specific equipment. It can be played in a small space. It is played with physical strength and mental sharpness and it requires the combination and cooperation of body and mind. The game promotes physical and mental strength.
Kabaddi is a team game played between two teams of seven players each. The court has fixed measurements. The game is played in two halves of twenty minutes each. In between the two halves, there is a five minute break.
The cant Kabaddi… Kabaddi… Kabaddi is the main feature of the game. The player who crosses the central line with the cant is called the raider. The raider tries to tag the players of the other team and the other team tries to tackle the raider. When the raider comes back, the raider from the other side comes into the opponents court.
Kabaddi is the national game of Bangladesh. It is palyed in other Asian countries too. Now-a-days Pro-kabaddi has become very popular. The game is played in the ‘Asian Games’.

కబడ్డీ.. కబడ్డీ… కబడ్డీ…. అనే కూత కబడ్డీ క్రీడ యొక్క ముఖ్యాంశం. కబడ్డీ అనే కూతతో మద్య లైన్ కు దాటి అవతలి జట్టు కోర్టులోకి వెళ్ళే క్రీడాకారుణ్ రైడర్’ అని అంటారు. అవతలి కోర్టులోని క్రీడాకారుల్ని తాకడానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తే, అవతలి జట్టు క్రీడాకారులు రైడర్ ని కట్టడి చేయడానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తారు. రైడర్ సొంత కోర్టులోకి తిరిగి రాగానే, ప్రత్యర్థి కోర్టు నుంచి మరొక రైడర్ ఇవతలి కోర్టులోకి వస్తాడు.
కబడ్డీ బంగ్లాదేశ్ దేశ జాతీయ క్రీడ. మిగిలిన ఆసియాదేశాల్లో కూడా కబడ్డీ ఆడతారు. ప్రస్తుతం ప్రో – కబడ్డీ చాలా జనాకర్షణ పొందినది. ‘ఆసియన్ క్రీడల్లో కూడా కబడ్డీ ఆడతారు.
